More Motorcycle News Photos:

Pictured below is the proposed Ducati "super cruiser".  I have seen several versions of a large cruiser offered by the Italian company.  The first version looked like a muscular and updated Ducati "Monster".  The one below looks more like a Yamaha V-Max.  Time will tell!

When will Ducati market the V-4 superbike on a larger scale! If Ducati is wanting to build there market share, the V-4 is more compatible with there current line of motorcycles!

In 1954, George Smith and Stanley Stankos (Stancos sold out after one year) raced Harley Davidson motorcycles using there own "home made" parts.  In 1958 they started selling their race proven parts under the name of S&S.  The company was successful from the beginning and built a reputation for manufacturing reliable equipment.  At some point, S&S made enough parts to build complete engines and customizers started using them to power their custom bikes.  In the mid to late 1990's, growing numbers of small specialty bike builders began making complete bikes using the S&S engines.  Builders like Big Dog, American Ironhorse, and over 30+ other companies used the S&S engines.  S&S now has their own engine designed, developed, and manufactured by themselves.  It's called the X Wedge.  It's been under development for a number of years and includes the best V twin technology.  I'm sure we will see more of this engine.

Here it is, the S&S "X-Wedge"

Brief Description

Below is the Big Dog "Bad Dog" motor under development now!

The "Bad Dog" engine is an overhead cam, four valve per cylinder V twin of 215 cubic inches!  Thats a 3500cc engine!  I can't wait to see the horse power figures.  The new Big Dog could start a new trend putting the V twin design back into a competitive position in terms of performance.

Will this be the new "Crocker" superbike?

Al Crocker was a racer in the teens (1914's, etc.) racing a Thor.  Thor's were genuine race bikes in their day, however HP figures for bikes in the early days, meaning up to the late 1920's, were rarely over 10 to 20 HP, so performance can't be compared to modern racing.  Crocker being unhappy with the bikes he rode, built his own.  Historians say that fewer than 100 were ever built.  Currently, Crockers are one of the most sought after collector bikes bringing up to $250,000 when available.  As a note, Al lived and worked in Kansas City as an Indian representative in his later years.  The new company simply purchased the rights to the name and have been building bike parts.  The concept bike is to be a 120+ HP super bike, modern in every way.  I hope they do it!

Moto Guzzi brings the Stelvio 1200 to the US!

Cycle World compares the new Guzzi Stelvio 1200 to the BMW R1200GS.  This new Guzzi is nice, but I want a V11 Ballabio, pretty please!  A Ballablio is pictures below!
